Padstow

Padstow is sweeping fields and dramatic coastline. It’s a former fishing port that’s now a foodie destination. It traces its history to ancient times and has a special connection to North Carolina – Sir Walter Raleigh,  namesake of the Old North State’s capital city, used to live here. He was Warden of Cornwall during the Elizabethan period and his Court House on Riverside was the central office for the collection of dues and taxes. It still remains, right by the harbor.
